SPONSOR VALENCIO

Sponsor Valencio's Urgent Medical Care & Travel to Billings

Valencio was urgently transported from Missouri to us here in Wyoming after his owner could no longer manage him. They brought up the pound or euthanasia as options — and we truly could not understand why.

So we stepped in.

Valencio is safe with us now. 💛

When he first arrived, we thought he was just a shy puppy… but something felt off. His energy was low — not normal for a puppy his age.

About a week in, he started showing signs that he was actually sick.

Since his previous owner mentioned Valencio eats things like socks, we feared he may have gotten into something he shouldn’t have. We rushed him to an emergency vet in the middle of the night in Montana. Imaging was inconclusive, but he improved a bit the next day, just enough to make us think we were past the worst.

But then everything changed.

A few days later Valencio declined rapidly. He went into shock, spiked dangerously high fevers, and became severely dehydrated.

A local vet stepped up and offered to see him immediately — we are beyond grateful.

That’s when we got the answer:

Valencio tested positive for Parvo.

He was admitted and hospitalized for three days, fighting for his life.

Today, Valencio is back home with us — and he is a completely different puppy.
Full energy. Happy. Alive.

It’s now clear he was already sick when he arrived.

Why We Need A Sponsor

Valencio’s care required emergency treatment and hospitalization — and Parvo treatment is not cheap.

To save him, we had to pay up front, and those vet bills stacked up quickly.

We’re looking for a sponsor to help cover Valencio’s medical costs.

Every donation goes directly toward his emergency vet visit, testing, and hospitalization.

Mail Call

Snail mail is a great way to stay in touch. It slows things down, keeps the skill of writing alive, and is a great way to connect with seniors who may be lonely. In our Mail Call program we connect vets and seniors with a penpal who would like to keep up on old school communication.
